Flood, fire, storm and other disasters…

Council’s Tweed Emergency Dashboard is a great resource to find useful information, contacts and resources about all manner of emergencies. Good to bookmark!

The Hazards Near Me app, which delivers emergency warnings and advice for fires, floods and tsunamis in NSW.

The Channon Hub has also got an excellent page full of information about preparing for any disaster including fire, flood, storm, heatwave and landslips. Download their disaster kit here.

Fire

To plan and prepare for the fire season, check out the Tweed Shire Council’s page on Planning and Preparing for Bushfires. This page includes links to:

Floods & storms

To prepare for a flood, check the SES flood preparation tips.

In case of heavy rain, storm or flood, check the map of flooded causeways and other relevant information on  www.ukiflood.org and here.

Mental health support…

RAMHP (Rural Adversity Mental Health Program) offers mental health outreach, support and information for regional, rural and remote communities. Find support through your local RAMHP coordinator.

Safe Haven North Coast – free community support and wellbeing. Safe Haven hubs support the mental health and wellbeing of local communities in Northern NSW.  Community members can drop into a Safe Haven hub to access free on-the-spot services.  Clinical and non-clinical staff are available at the Safe Haven hubs to provide evidence-based personalised care, including counselling support, connection, and referral.  Hubs are located in Woodburn, Lismore, Mullumbimby and Murwillumbah.  Open 7 days a week from 12pm – 6pm, no appointments are necessary.

The Recovery Support Services for Greater Uki are based at Pottsville Beach Neighbourhood Centre and Nimbin Neighbourhood and Information Centre.
